Complete Close Reading Book 3, along with the other books in the series, is a useful book for New Zealand junior secondary students to help develop and practise the vitally important skills of reading with comprehension and responding to a variety of text types. As teachers of English we know that a students’ ability to effectively and efficiently read, understand, analyse, interpret and respond to text is a significant focus in the senior English classroom. Therefore we appreciate the need to begin teaching students the basic skills required to effectively read and understand a text in our junior classes. Complete Close Reading 3 provides New Zealand junior English students with a consistent approach to developing and practising the vitally important skills of reading with comprehension and responding to a variety of written, visual and oral texts.
