Natural Environments: The Taupo Volcanic Zone and the South Island High Country for NCEA Level 2

By | Copyright Year:2015 | ISBN-13: 9780170348041

Published:14/07/2014
This book was written to prepare New Zealand Level 2 Geography students for AS91240 (Demonstrate geographic understanding of a large natural environment). It includes two alternative studies:

- The Taupo Volcanic Zone
- The South Island High Country, which includes parts of Otago, Canterbury and Marlborough

Each study includes information on what the natural environment is like now; how it has developed and changed over time; and how it has been affected by nearly 1000 years of human occupation.

The teaching is closely related to NCEA and curriculum requirements, and is supported by many maps, diagrams and photographs. A range of exercises and activities are included to encourage students to explore geographic concepts and develop geographic knowledge and skills.
