Overview
STEP UP with CHINESE for Australia is a ground-breaking Chinese language textbook series for secondary school students with little or no Chinese language background. It is designed with a strong focus on communication, intercultural understanding and connections with other key learning areas (KLAs). This second edition features updated content, new images, and an additional vocabulary index that facilitates Chinese word search via English keywords.
This series consists of four levels. Each textbook is designed to be covered in one academic year. The learning goals of each unit are aligned to the ACARA Australian Curriculum: Languages Chinese. The accompanying workbook features a wide variety of exercises designed to enhance students’ proficiency in all four language skills. The all-new companion website (http://stepup-aus.cengageclt.com) offers a Pinyin pronunciation guide, interactive vocabulary flashcards, mp3 downloads, additional practice exercises, and password-protected instructor resources such as teacher’s guide, audio scripts, answer keys, and a new testing program containing chapter tests.
