Nelson Maths for New Zealand is the innovative maths series written by an expert author team specifically for New Zealand students. Designed for years 3–8, Nelson Maths for New Zealand: Connecting Number Facts to Applications assists teachers to plan for, teach and assess all the required Number learning Achievement Objectives in the Number and Algebra Strand in Mathematics in the current New Zealand Curriculum document.

Components include a Teacher's Resource Book, Teaching and Learning DVD (which is packaged with the Teacher's Resource Book) and Years 3–8 Student Books.

Student Book 1

Covers the basic addition facts of adding to 10 or less as well as doubles. The associated subtraction facts are learned simultaneously.

Numeracy Stage 4+ (Year 3 and 4)

Curriculum Level 1 and 2

Student Book 2

Covers the remaining addition facts to 20 and some of the times tables. The associated subtraction and division facts are learned simultaneously.

Numeracy Stage 5+ (Year 4 and 5)
Curriculum Level 2 and 3

Student Book 3

Times tables that are not covered in Student Book 2 and associated division facts. Addition and subtraction facts are extended with greater place-value/ knowledge added.

Student Book 4 and 5

Basic facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Further place-value, fraction, decimal, percentage and ratio work is added.
